MORE:  Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services (CCFES) is proud to announce the opening of their new 6,500 sq. ft. indoor Physical Ability Test (PAT) training gym.  This new indoor facility is one of a handful of such dedicated PAT gyms in the country that can conduct year-round PATs for both pre-hire applicants and incumbent firefighters in a climate-controlled environment.  Though being out of the elements is important, an even more beneficial feature of having a dedicated indoor facility is that CCFES can utilize clean equipment, free of potential carcinogens that can adhere to primary equipment. Cancer prevention and associated training is paramount to all members within CCFES and our new PAT gym allows us to remain progressive in our cancer prevention initiative. At a cost near $850,000 (for buildout and equipment) and completed within five months, CCFES is continuing to make impressive strides in the areas of fitness and safety in the fire service.
