Cobb County has been at the forefront among local governments in conserving and protecting the resources entrusted to it by its Citizens. The Cobb County Sustainable Practices Policy has been developed to promote environmentally sustainable design and construction of buildings and sites, and for operations and maintenance activities for County facilities other assets.
The Atlanta Regional Commission Green Communities Program is designed to encourage local
governments to demonstrate leadership on environmental sustainability. Local governments are asked to set an example for the community by conserving energy, investing in renewable energy, conserving water, conserving fuel, reducing waste and protecting and restoring the community’s natural resources.
