The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program trains people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community.

Interested in becoming a CERT member? We are offering CERT Initial Training sessions.

What is Code Red?

Code Red is a communication notification program for emergency alerts. Notifications include evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports. The program also offers optional emergency weather alerts.

It's important to familiarize with the hazards that extreme heat can bring before hotter temperatures set it. Take precaution now and begin to prepare!

Check to see if your home's cooling system is working properly.
Make sure your home is well insulated and that you have weather stripping around your doors and window sills to keep the cool air inside.
Install window air conditioners snugly; insulate if necessary.
Check air-conditioning ducts for proper insulation.
Install temporary window reflectors, such as aluminum foil-covered cardboard, to reflect heat back outside, and weather-strip doors and sills to keep cool air in.
