COBB COUNTY ARP FOOD PROGRAM REALLOCATION OF FUNDS
On June 22, 2021, the Board of Commissioners authorized a fund balance appropriation in the amount o f $1,575,000.00 to provide food assistance in response to the economic and emotional tolls on families who remain in need as a result of the pandemic.
Proposals were accepted from a wide range of nonprofit organizations. A total of 28 applications were received and evaluated for potential funding and all qualified applicants have been recommended for funding.
Funds awarded were based on requirements listed in the June 22, 2021 BOC Agenda Item, which included an evaluation of each application based on the primary goal to distribute food, numbers of persons served, the amount requested and previous experience. Due to the funding available, we were unable to fund each and every applicant for their full requested amount, but every applicant was recommended to receive funding with an expenditure deadline of December 31, 2021.
Currently, there is a total of $13,076.49 (Revised) in unexpended funds under the ARP Food Program. The CDBG Program Office has recommended reallocating each of the 21 fully expended agencies an equal portion of the remaining funds for eligible items with a deadline to expend all remaining funds by April 15, 2022.
The proposed funding reallocation recommendations below will be included on the Tuesday, March 8, 2022 Board of Commissioners' Agenda meeting for approval.
