Cobb County  ARP Food Assistance Program

On June 22, 2021, the Board of Commissioners authorized a fund balance appropriation in the amount of $1,575,000.00 to provide food assistance in response to the economic and emotional tolls on families who remain in need as a result of the pandemic.

Proposals were accepted from a wide range of non-profit organizations. A total of 28 applications were received and evaluated for potential funding and all qualified applicants have been recommended for funding.

Funds awarded were based on requirements listed in the June 22, 2021 BOC Agenda Item, which included an evaluation of each application based on the primary goal to distribute food, numbers of persons served, the amount requested and previous experience. Due to the funding available, we were unable to fund each and every applicant for their full requested amount, but every applicant was recommended to receive funding. 

The proposed funding recommendations below will be included on the Tuesday, July 27, 2021 Board of Commissioners' Agenda meeting for approval.
