FY 2018 & 2019 JAG PROGRAM FUNDING ALLOCATION
PUBLIC REVIEW MEETING NOTICE
A Virtual Public Meeting will be held to receive comments on the reallocation of Fiscal Year 2018 and 2019 program funds from the United States Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG).
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) awarded Cobb County $106,152.00 in Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 and $112,445.00 in FY 2019 in Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funds for crime prevention and justice system improvements.
In 2018, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) published a Special Notice regarding FY2018 and FY2019 JAG award conditions requiring recipients to dedicate 3% of their FY2018 and FY2019 JAG award toward achieving full compliance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Incident- Based Reporting System (NIBRS). Cobb Police Department has balance of $102.68 in FY2018 and $3,373.35 in FY2019.
As such, Cobb County CDBG Program Office is recommending reallocating the total unexpended funds of $3,476.03 to liveSafe Resources, Inc for their JAG Victim Witness Program.
A 30-day Public Comment period will commence on Thursday, February 11, 2021 and will conclude on Monday, March 15, 2021. The proposed JAG Program reallocation will be included on the Tuesday, March 23, 2021 Cobb County Board of Commissioners' Agenda.
