GCAA Scholarship and Awards Announcement 2022
The Cobb County CDBG Program Office joins with the Georgia Community Action Association in announcing the availability of a two thousand five hundred-dollar ($2,500.00) Scholarship to be awarded on a statewide basis to a Georgia resident who is currently attending a post high school institution or has been accepted at an educational institution. The individual must be income eligible in accordance with the Community Services Block Grant guidelines and be successfully judged the winner in an essay writing competition. The essay is to be entitled “What Has the Community Action Movement Meant to My Community." The Georgia Community Action Association is a professional association composed of twenty (20) member agencies from across the State, one of which is Cobb County. GCAA SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES
The GCAA Community Action Network is proud to provide a $2,500 Scholarship to one recipient who meets the following eligibility criteria:
- Must meet CSBG Income Guidelines.
- Must be currently attending an institution of higher learning (college/university/vo-tech school) or must have already been accepted by one of the same.
- Must prepare an essay to be entitled “What Has the Community Action Movement Meant to My Community.” Essays must be no more than 3 typewritten pages, double spaced.
The application must be received by the CDBG Program Office by 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
