Public Notice - Reallocation of CDBG and HOME Program Funds

The Cobb County CDBG Program Office will hold a Public Review Meeting on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. to receive comments on the reallocation of unexpended CDBG and HOME Program Funds.

A total of $100,000.00 in unexpended Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the following projects (Fair Housing Total: $44,303.01 [PY2021-$29,303.01 and PY2022: $15,000.00] and Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation: $55,696.99) in Program Years (PY) 2021 and 2022 is proposed for reallocation to Zion Keepers Public Facility Renovation.  This reallocation is in compliance with HUD CDBG regulations to ensure timely expenditures of grant funds.

A total of $405,232.54 in unexpended funds from HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funded projects in PY 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 is available for reallocation. As a result, the following organizations are recommended for an increase of their current budgets in various program years:

Additionally, the following organizations utilized program income funds for project expenses prior to expending additional HOME program grant funds. As a result, the CDBG Program Office is recommending an increase of their current budgets as a result of program income expenditures:

• HOME Program Year 2020: HOME Program funding for LiveSafe Resources in the amount of $26,015.98, Must Ministries in the amount of $12,991.61, and Zion Keepers in the amount of $80,820.28.
• HOME Program Year 2021: HOME Program funding for LiveSafe Resources in the amount of $34,483.36, Zion Keepers in the amount of $69,730.10, Center for Family Resources in the amount of $13,006.43, and Society of St. Vincent De Paul in the amount of $6,868.00.
• HOME Program Year 2022: HOME Program funding for LiveSafe Resources in the amount of $27,296.10.

A 30-day Public Comment period will commence on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 and will conclude on Friday, September 8, 2023.
