Virtual Public Meeting Notice: CDBG & ESG Reallocations

Virtual Public Review Meeting will be held to receive comments on the reallocation of unexpended Program Years (PY) PY2018-PY2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program funds and to amend the County's 2016-2020 Consolidated Plan, 2020 Annual Action Plan and Citizen Participation Plan.

The proposed reallocation and amendments will be included on the Tuesday, June 9, 2020 Board of Commissioner's Agenda. A 5-day public comment period commenced on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, and will conclude on Monday, May 18, 2020.

The Virtual Public Meeting will be held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 10:30 AM.

Amendments to the 2016-2020 Consolidated Plan, 2020 Action Plan, & Citizen Participation Plan

Changes to the County's Plans will consist of: 

  • HUD has granted Cobb County with a waiver of the 30-day minimum for the required public comment for substantial amendments, provided that no less than 5 days are provided for public comments on each substantial amendment. The waiver is available through the end of the recipient's 2020 program year.
  • HUD has granted Cobb County with a waiver of 24 CFR 91.105(c)(2) and (k), 24 CFR 91.115(c)(2) and (i) and 24 CFR 91.401 to allow the City to determine what constitutes reasonable notice and opportunity to comment given their circumstances in which the County will implement virtual public hearings. This authority is in effect through the end of the 2020 program year.
