Board to consider changes to meeting Rules and Procedures

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners will consider changes to its Rules and Procedures during its regularly scheduled meeting on March 26.
The meeting starts at 7 pm in the BOC Meeting Room at 100 Cherokee Street, Marietta.
The rules govern the how the board's meeting are held. Some of the proposed changes include:
Section 1.07 Agenda
- Limit presentations to one per commissioner each meeting.
- Require written consent of four board members to place a resolution on the agenda.
- Require a 4/5 vote to approve resolutions.
Section 1.09 Public Participation
- Eliminates prohibition of certain groups to participate in public comment.
- Increase number of public comment spots.
- Set public comment time to three minutes to match public hearing time.
- Better defines public comment sign up procedures - starts sign up 30 minutes before start of the meeting until the start of the meeting.
Section 2.01 Adherence to Agenda
- Limits commissioner comment time to three minutes.
