Marietta, GA -- The Board of Commissioners has appointed Erica Parish as its new director for the Department of Transportation (DOT). Parish has been serving as interim director of the agency since April 2018. She had worked as the deputy director of the agency beginning in September 2016.

Before coming to Cobb County Parish was with Paulding County, Ga. DOT where she began he career in civil engineering as a preconstruction engineer. She held the position of Preconstruction Manager before coming to Cobb.

Parish received her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University (now Kennesaw State University). During her tenure with Paulding County, Parish acquired many certifications, including her Professional Engineering Licensure.
