Cobb County’s Water Department received the country’s top ranking in customer satisfaction according to a nationally-recognized consumer insight firm.  J.D. Power listed the Cobb County Water Department as the top-rated department in the south.  Cobb’s score of 782 out of 1000 was the highest in all regions.

“In light of the ongoing increases in construction, energy, chemical, and other costs, we are pleased to continue to be able to provide quality services at a reasonable price,” said Water Director Steve McCullers.

County Manager Rob Hosack praised the department for its flexibility in addressing various challenges while keeping the water flowing.  “We’re proud that our Water Department uses innovative approaches to provide a service at a fair price that customers clearly value,” Hosack said.

J.D. Power said in a news release overall satisfaction is measured by examining 33 attributes in six factors (listed in order of importance): delivery; price; conservation; billing and payment; communications; and customer service.   Cobb’s ranking rose from last year when the Water Department finished third in the south and third nationally.   J.D. Power’s study looked at 89 water utilities nationwide that handle more than 400,000 customers.
