Monday, 10/14/2024 - Monday, 10/14/2024
04:00pm - 05:00pm

Join us for our Tween STEAM Club: having fun with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.  Recommended for ages 9-14!

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.

This week: Guatemalan Worry Dolls.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be creating Guatemalan Worry Dolls.

Traditionally, children store their Worry Dolls in a special place until just before going to sleep. At bedtime, they take out the Worry Dolls and tell one worry to each doll. The dolls then spend the night under the children's pillows to take the worry away.

You'll make a  Worry Doll, by twisting pipe cleaners together to create the shape of the doll. Next, wrap them in yarn to make clothing and add a face. Now the dolls are ready to listen to your worries!
