This week: Smush Trumpet Painting.
In celebration of Black History Month and trumpet players such as Dolly Jones, Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, we are making a Smush Trumpet painting.
Dolly Jones was the first person to record a Jazz record. Louis Armstrong was an amazing trumpet player and a beloved entertainer in the 20th Century. Miles Davis was a band leader as well as a trumpet player. He is one of the most influential and respected figures in the history of Jazz.
To make the Smush painting, you’ll add drops of paint to your paper and cover it with plastic wrap. Next comes the fun part, press your hands on the plastic wrap to spread the paint around. When you’re finished you can add your trumpet.
