We meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.
This week: Lorna Simpson Collage.
In honor of Black History Month, we are creating art similar to Lorna Simpson. Lorna Simpson is an American photographer and multimedia artist whose work has been showcased both in the U.S. and abroad. In 1990, she made history as one of the first African American women to exhibit at the Venice Biennale, a cultural exhibition in Venice.
For this project, cut a picture from a magazine, then cut words out from magazines that describe your picture. Lastly, arrange your words and pictures in a collage.
