Uncomfortably Close: We Have Always Lived in the Castle

Saturday, 10/12/2024 - Saturday, 10/12/2024
02:00pm - 04:00pm

Shirley Jackson is a master of horror and creepy stories that stay with her readers long after they are reading. Join us for an afternoon of discussing her classic book, "We Have Always Lived in the Castle," as well as the process of close reading, crafting modern mythology, origin stories, and literature’s creepiest sister duo. Participants in this class will:

  • Meet other book lovers
  • Discuss a creepy story
  • Learn how to close read a text

Participants are encouraged to bring their own copies of the book, however, library copies will be made available during the class.
