An Arson/Felony Murder Arrest Warrant was obtained on 10/30/2018. The Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services Fire Investigations Unit continue to investigate a fire which occurred at 2036 Drennon Avenue in Austell, Georgia.

On 10/23/2018 at approximately 07:20, CCFES responded to a reported structure fire at 2036 Drennon Avenue. Arriving units found a two-story structure moderately involved by fire. A male and female victim self-evacuated. A third female victim required rescue. She later perished at WellStar Cobb Medical Center. New information has been obtained implicating the male victim of intentionally setting the fire at this location.

As a result of the investigation, Richard Elsner was charged with (1) count of Arson-Endangerment (Felony) and Felony Murder.

Richard Elsner is currently at WellStar Cobb Hospital awaiting surgery.
