(Marietta, GA – Sept. 18, 2015) Cobb Senior Services promotes Active Aging, allowing individuals of all ages to take charge of their health and wellness, with the Taste of Wellness event 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Senior Wellness Center (1150 Powder Springs St., Marietta). Cobb Senior Services is hosting this event in celebration of Active Aging Week, an event started by the International Council on Active Aging in order to challenge negative perceptions of aging and promote the idea that older adults can be healthy, fully participating members of society.
Taste of Wellness will provide residents the chance to partake in various activities including Yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, Trans Dance, Focus on Fitness, line dancing, health screenings, gardening, pet therapy, library technology, Wii games, theatre, musical instruments, clay crafting, wood carvers, farmer’s market and more.
“Cobb is fortunate to have outstanding partners collaborate on this initiative and we look forward to opening our doors to individuals who may not have considered themselves eligible to participate although they are in fact 55 or older,”Cobb Senior Services Executive Director Jessica Gill said.
The event is open to all ages, so now is the time to bring a friend, family member, or loved one to experience our state of the art Senior Wellness Center and get a taste of all that Cobb Senior Services has to offer.
