Obtaining Certified Copies of Your Marriage License

To receive a certified copy of a marriage license issued in Cobb County:

  • Order your marriage license online.
    • You have the option of ordering a certified copy of your marriage license and/or a certified copy of your marriage application.
    • Typically, you only need a certified copy of your application when it is specifically requested by an agency or when either party has decided to hyphenate their last name. Most people request a certified copy of their marriage license only.
    • If the date of marriage is prior to May 1973, marriage records cannot be ordered online.
  • You may come in person to the Probate Court, or
    • Mail a written request to:
      Cobb County Probate Court
      32 Waddell Street
      Marietta, Georgia 30060.
    • Your correspondence should include the names of both parties and the date of the ceremony. You will need to provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request.
  • The fee is $10 per copy payable by check, money order, cash, credit or debit card. All fees are non-refundable. Please note, there will be a $2.50 service fee assessed to any credit/debit card transaction. This service fee goes directly to LexisNexis VitalChek Network, Inc.; Probate Court’s payment processing vendor.
