The Risk Reduction Program consists of 2 parts, (1) the NEEDS Assessment and, (2) a 20-hour course spread out over 3 days. When you complete the program, the instructor will either give you a certificate or email the certificate to you. You will need to keep the original for the Department of Driver Services (if your license was suspended). You will need to make a copy and bring it to your Probation Officer.
You can find a list of Risk Reduction Programs on the Georgia Department of Driver Services website. If you live out of state, this website will also help you find a Risk Reduction Program equivalent in your home state.
All questions regarding the reinstatement of a suspended driver’s license needs to be directed to the Georgia Department of Driver Services. For frequently asked questions, you can visit www.dds.ga.gov.
