The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) has awarded Cobb Commute top honors in Georgia’s 2016 Technology Innovation Showcase. The web-based application, provided via collaboration between the Cobb County Department of Transportation and Information Services Department, offers up-to-date traffic conditions for local commuters. It is one of eight projects that will be recognized at a luncheon during the Georgia Digital Government Summit on September 29, 2016, in Atlanta. Cobb Commute is the only county project to earn top honors in the showcase.
Eighteen tech-focused projects from 12 state and local government agencies were nominated. The projects were evaluated on the level of innovation as well as significance to improving business processes, efficiency, financial savings and service delivery to customers. The GTA Technology Innovation Showcase has recognized outstanding state and local government work since 2012.
