Monday

Tai Chi for Arthritis #1091

Tai chi for arthritis exercise has many health benefits. You will learn movements to help improve overall health and wellness. Tai chi helps relieve arthritis, reduces blood pressure and prevents falls.

Intermediate Line Dancing #1129

Sylvia will keep you going! Have fun and exercise at the same time to country, soft-rock and pop music. Great fun and a great workout! This class is for seniors with previous experience in line dancing.

 

Tuesday

Focus on Fitness #1352

February 6 – March 27
This exercise program is designed to help decrease stiffness and pain using low impact moves, range of motion, light hand weights and Therabands.  This class is great for those with arthritis as well as those new to fitness looking to build strength, stamina, flexibility and balance. Exercises are done while sitting or standing.

Yoga for Joint Health #1360

This gentle class introduces basic yoga poses, breathing techniques and relaxation methods at a slower pace in a safe environment. Learn about your muscles, bones and as you move, stretch and strengthen your body. Modifications for poses are offered. Please bring a yoga mat.

Beginner Line Dancing #1128

Sylvia will keep you going! Have fun and exercise at the same time to country, soft-rock and pop music. No previous experience necessary. Learn basic steps like grapevine, shuffle, pivot and jazz box.

 
Thursday

Strength Training #1317

This type of exercise uses hand weights with the proper techniques to build muscles, endurance, balance, flexibility, and improve posture. It’s a lot of fun and at the end of the class you leave with a positive attitude and more energy. Bring light hand weights to class.

Salsa Dancing-Beginner #1153

This class will introduce you to the rhythm and timing of the music, as well as techniques in leading and following. You will learn basic footwork and dance positions. You will learn fun and easy dance patterns. No partners required.

Yoga for Bone Strength #1415

These classes will focus on strengthening bones for men and women who have osteoporosis, osteopenia and for bone loss prevention. Each participant will make a commitment to at home practice that will require 15 minutes each day. You will learn poses to help improve bone strength, coordination, muscle strength and balance. Bring an exercise mat.

Yoga #1125

Improve your balance, increase your flexibility, strengthen your muscles, relieve joint stiffness, relax into your breath, and relieve stress. This gentle yoga features three levels of flexibility that honors your body just the way it is. An emphasis is placed on creating a relaxed atmosphere where all who participate can get the most out of the practice. We use chairs for balance and support. Bring an exercise mat.

 

Friday

Fitness Cardio & Strength #1365

February 9 – March 23
You will get a safe and effective total body workout that is fun and easy to learn. Each class will have 30 minutes of active dance and 30 minutes of chair exercises. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows for movement; cross trainer shoes that offer stability and allow for lateral directional moves.  Bring a hand towel.

Tai Chi is low impact and slow motion exercise. It is often described as “meditation.” Benefits are relaxation, improved strength and flexibility. Beginners welcome.
