Help shape of future of parks in Cobb

Cobb County is in the process of updating its PARKS Master Plan and public input and participation is critical to the success of the master plan process. The plan was adopted in 2001 and the county has contracted with a land planning, landscape architecture and recreation planning firm to assess our current parks and recreation delivery system. Included in the assessment will be Cobb’s recreation, cultural affairs, senior services and natural resources facilities and programs. Among the tasks of the master plan update is a detailed review of the quality of existing programs and facilities offered to residents and identification of areas that are exceptional or are in need of improvement.

A series of public meetings will be held throughout the county where you can provide your input about Cobb’s facilities and programs. The open house will be a drop-in meeting, where you can come any time between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and ask questions and provide feedback about Cobb's parks system. The public meetings will feature a presentation about the master plan process and modern parks systems. There will display boards around the room and attendees will be able to vote for facilities they would like to see in county parks.
