Public Information Open House: Three District 3 Projects

The Cobb County Department of Transportation (CCDOT) will share details about three projects at a public information open house Tuesday, March 7, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mountain View Community Center at 3400 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, 30066. There will be no formal presentation. The projects on display will be Sandy Plains Road at Davis Road (Mountain View Elementary School Relocation), Old Canton Road at Holly Springs Road and Post Oak Tritt Road at Hembree Road. CCDOT personnel will be on-site to answer questions.

Sandy Plains Road at Davis Road (Mountain View Elementary School Relocation)

  • This project will improve the intersection of Sandy Plains Road at Davis Road (due to the relocation of Mountain View Elementary School). Improvements include a traffic signal rebuild, new school zone flashing beacons and median improvements at the new bus driveway on Sandy Plains Road (north of Davis Road).

Holly Springs Road at Old Canton Road

  • This project consists of traffic analysis and design for intersection improvements at Old Canton Road and Holly Springs Road. The improvements will take into consideration the residential context of the area, the need for pedestrian crossings and vehicular movements.

Post Oak Tritt Road at Hembree Road

  • The project consists of safety and operational improvements at the intersection of Post Oak Tritt Road at Hembree Road.  The improvements will potentially include reconfiguration of turn/travel lanes, a traffic signal or a roundabout.

Descriptions and displays of these three projects are available in the CCDOT 2016 SPLOST project list.
