Deniece Carrington is a native of Canada and received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary (Alberta, Canada). She received her Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law in 2008. Judge Carrington joined Cobb County Magistrate Court in 2017. She is admitted to practice in Georgia and currently serves as General Counsel for a not-for-profit corporation.
In this position, she manages the legal department and regularly handles a vast array of legal matters, including but not limited to real estate, contracts and employment law. Prior to her current position as General Counsel, Judge Carrington worked for large creditor rights firms where she frequently wrote summaries on updates to Georgia law and travelled to large mortgage servicers to lecture on Georgia law. She also lectured at the 2011 ICLE Title Standards seminar.
Judge Carrington is currently a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel (Georgia Chapter) and Junior League of Atlanta. She is also a program volunteer with Kate’s Club, an organization which aims to empower children after the death of a parent, guardian, or sibling.
