As the largest fair in metro Atlanta, the Superior Plumbing North Georgia State Fair attracts nearly 300,000 people every year from north Georgia and neighboring states. The Superior Plumbing North Georgia State Fair features live music, free attractions and shows, farm animals, flower shows, blue ribbon competitions, local entertainment, and delicious fair foods. There are also games and rides on the Great James H. Drew Exposition midway – one of the largest carnival midways in the United States, featuring the Wildcat Rollercoaster, Georgia Mountain Lift and debuting in 2017 the Mega Slide.
A covered arena guarantees concerts rain or shine, including appearances by great country and contemporary christian artists. Headlining the Georgia Lottery Concert Series this year are: Colton Dixon on Friday, Sept. 22; Lauren Alaina on Saturday, Sept. 23; Trace Adkins on Wednesday, Sept. 27; Colt Ford on Thursday, Sept. 28; Chris Janson on Friday, Sept. 29; Zach Seabaugh on Saturday, Sept. 30. Concerts are free with fair admission.
Drew Exposition, often referred to as America’s Amusement Park on tour, has added a new classic ride to this year’s fair, The North Georgia State Fair Mega Slide - at 50 feet high and rippling out another 170 feet, the yellow and green Mega Slide will be one of the most iconic structures at the North Georgia State Fair. Also new in 2017 include the Firemen High Dive Show, Kachunga and the Alligator Show, Horses, Horses, Horses with Lisa Dufresne, Treeman and Cowboy Woody.
Returning acts in 2017 include Sea Lion Splash!, Robinson’s Racing Pigs & Paddling Porkers, Lady Houdini, Atlanta Puppet featuring master Puppeteer Peter Hart, Eudora Farms Exotic Petting Zoo, Brian Ruth “Master of the Chainsaw”, North Georgia Animals Petting Barn, and pony rides too! Other long-time traditions will continue, including sanctioned flower shows, non-commercial exhibits, and more than 40 amusement rides and games courtesy of the Great James H. Drew Exposition.
Adult admission is $7, children 10 and under are free. Ride tickets are $1.25 each, $20 for 21 tickets, $50 for 55 tickets and $100 for 120 tickets. All rides require more than one ticket. Parking is $5. Concerts are free with fair admission. ATM machines are located on the midway. Advance admission tickets can be purchased for $3.50, with children 10 and under free. A book of 21 ride tickets can be purchased for only $11, which is 50% off. There is a $1 fee for postage and handling. Visit the fair website to order advance tickets. Discount tickets will also be available at all metro Atlanta Walgreens through September 22nd. Buy-One, Get-One free admission coupons will be available at all Metro Atlanta O’Reiley Auto Parts stores for the month of September.
