Cobb Fire Outreach Program

Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services is in the process of setting up a Community Outreach Program. The goal of this program is to improve the overall quality of life for Cobb County citizens continuously, not just during an emergency. We are working with Adult Protective Services, Cobb Senior Services and the Veterans Association to assist people in getting the tools needed for a better quality of life and reducing 911 abuse.

A citizen in Cobb who was having issues falling onto the floor when moving from their bed to their wheelchair and to a recliner. Through the efforts of Cobb Senior Services, they were able to secure an electric lift chair and a transfer board to assist this citizen and help alleviate the fall problem, with no cost to the citizen. Pictured below: from left to right are Latronda Andrews-Perry, Sandee Panichi, (not pictured Jessica Gill) that made this possible. A very special thank you to Cobb Senior Services.

There was still a need to figure out how to get the lift to the residence, remove the old chair, and replace with the new chair. The crew at Station #3 took time out of their busy schedule to assist with this process. Thank you B/shift for going above and beyond the call of duty to help improve this citizen’s life.
