Windy Hill - Terrell Mill Connector

Windy Hill Road Logo

As Cobb County continues to grow in population, educational opportunities, professional prospects and recreational options, it is vitally important that our roadways develop and expand to support that progress. One of our fastest-growing areas, Cumberland, will soon serve as an even greater hub for sports, music and culinary enthusiasts with the addition of SunTrust Park and The Battery in 2017. However, plans for facilitating increased travel in Cobb have been in the works for years—a decade or more in some cases—long before the county became the new home for the Braves.

Windy Hill Road lane closure at I-75 overpass to cause significant delays and congestion

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, the right lane for eastbound travel on Windy Hill Road at the I-75 overpass will close indefinitely as the westbound lane on the north side of the bridge reopens. This 24-hour lane closure will cause significant traffic congestion and delays at different times throughout the day. Following this traffic shift, the lane configuration for eastbound traffic across the I-75 bridge will be two through lanes and one left turn lane to I-75 North. Construction work in the area will take place weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes.
