Cobb County Government

Since 1982, Cobb County has qualified to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development [HUD]. The primary objective of the CDBG Program is to help develop viable urban communities, principally for low and moderate income persons, by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities.

A Public Review Meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 in the Cobb County Board of Commissioners Room located at 100 Cherokee Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060 to receive comments for Cobb County’s Phase 35 Emergency Food & Shelter Program recommended final allocations received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). As a result of the Emergency Food & Shelter Program funding received during Phase 35, participating non-profit organizations will provide meals and nights of shelter for residents of Cobb County. In addition, the agencies will also provide utility, rent, and mortgage assistance for families in need.

PY2018 Annual Action Plan

Cobb County is an entitlement community eligible to receive direct assistance under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Cobb County is also a participating jurisdiction under the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and a formula grantee under the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). The County’s CDBG Program Office is responsible for the development and administration of the Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan.
