Cobb County Government

Since 1982, Cobb County has qualified to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development [HUD]. The primary objective of the CDBG Program is to help develop viable urban communities, principally for low and moderate income persons, by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities.

Notice of Public Information Meeting

Public Information Meetings will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 and Tuesday September 11, 2018 at the Cobb County Civic Center – Hudgins Hall Conference Room located at 548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, Georgia 30060 to receive comments on the reallocation of NSP 1 Program Income. A total of $247,365.36 in NSP funds will be transferred for facility renovations at 324 Victory Drive, Marietta, GA 30060.


The Cobb County CDBG Program Office is now accepting Fiscal Year 2018 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Applications from non-profit organizations, local government departments and related law enforcement entities. Applications will be accepted beginning on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 and ending on Friday, August 10, 2018.  Applications should be submitted to the CDBG Program Office by no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018. Cobb County is an entitlement community eligible to receive direct assistance under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program. Cobb County is also a participating jurisdiction under the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and a formula grantee under the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG). The County’s CDBG Program Office is responsible for the development and administration of the Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan.
