Flooding prompts closure of Vinings Branch Library
The frigid weather over the Christmas weekend caused a sprinkler line in the Vinings Branch Library to burst, damaging the building.
The damage was discovered on Christmas Day, but crews were able to shut off the water and begin repairs. It appears the books in the stacks were undamaged, but repairs to the building could take some time.
In the meantime, holds can be picked up at Lewis A. Ray Library.
- All holds that were available for pick up have been moved to LAR.
- Patrons placing holds at Vinings will be automatically re-routed to go to LAR until the branch re-opens.
- Book drops at Vinings are CLOSED. Patrons cannot return books there.
Staff will be moved to other branches while repairs are underway.
