National Aviation Month
West Cobb Regional Library is celebrating National Aviation History Month! National Aviation History Month is "dedicated to exploring, recognizing and celebrating America’s great contributions and achievements in the development of aviation. Aviation history refers to the history of development of mechanical flight — from the earliest attempts in kites and gliders to powered heavier-than-air, supersonic and space flights.” (from Government Printing Office)
The first powered flight flew 120 feet in 12 seconds. Can you move faster than a plane?
Visit West Cobb Regional Library to use the 120-foot flight path drawn on the sidewalk outside the front doors to see if you can beat 12 seconds! Then go inside the library to log your "flight" time and pick up an Aviation Take & Make!
