National Library Week is April 3-9: Connect with Your Cobb County Library
Cobb County Public Library (CCPL) invites all community members to celebrate National Library Week, April 3-9, 2022, by visiting library locations in person and exploring online library resources.
The 2022 National Library Week theme “Connect with Your Library” is about highlighting the essential role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and delivering services and programs for community impact, library officials say. This theme promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with programs and classes, media, ideas, and books.
“We celebrate Cobb libraries for the many roles library workers and supporters embrace for connecting people and the community to each other to add immeasurable real-life value for all we serve,” said Cobb Library Director Helen Poyer.
National Library Week is an opportunity to recognize the innovative ways CCPL staff members are making a difference in people’s lives. This occurs by introducing library patrons to the library materials and electronic learning resources they need for school homework and career advancement, providing reference resources for getting through personal milestones, expanding internet access, providing Cobb Library Bookmobile visits throughout the community, and more.
Highlights of National Library Week 2022 include National Library Workers Day celebrated on Tuesday. National Library Outreach Day is on Wednesday. Take Action for Libraries Day, a day to rally advocates to support libraries – public, school, academic, and special – is Thursday.
