[UPDATE] Marietta, Ga.  — Starting Tuesday, May 30 at 6 a.m. until Monday, July 10 at 6 p.m., Mars Hill Road -- from Old Stilesboro Road to Stilesboro Road -- will be closed to through traffic and restricted for residential access. This closure has been requested by the Cobb County Department of Transportation for bridge rehabilitation, concrete repairs, and streambank restoration for the Lake Allatoona Creek.

The Mars Hill Bridge over Lake Allatoona Creek, located on Mars Hill Road, between Chipping Drive and Waldenbrooke Court, has been a part of the County’s roadway system since 1967 and carries over 18,000 vehicles daily. This rehabilitation project will extend the life of the bridge so that it can continue to safely serve the County’s residents and visitors for many more years to come.

For the duration of this road closure, Cobb County DOT encourages motorist to utilize Cobb Parkway/US 41, Acworth Due West Road and Stilesboro Road as detour routes.
