Solicitor General Metzger & Staff Join Highland Rivers Behavioral Health to recognize Mental Health Awareness Month

Cobb County Solicitor General Makia Metzger, and staff joined Highland Rivers Behavioral Health for the first time in recognizing National Mental Health Awareness Month during a well-attended program on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the Office of the Solicitor General in Marietta, Georgia. 

Victim Advocate Caryn Dawkins welcomed those in attendance, which included prosecutors, victim advocates and legal administrative assistants.  Jennifer Logan, Director of Accountability Court Services, delivered heartfelt remarks about the difficult and extreme challenges that mental health brings to those incarcerated or impacted by the criminal justice system.  

Solicitor General Metzger spoke regarding efforts underway to bridge the relationship  with Highland Rivers and create a task force to tackle the problems facing those with mental health so they could get their care they need.
