Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will close access to the Akers Mill Road bridge this weekend. These closures are related to the construction of new direct connection access ramps at Akers Mill Road to the I-75/I-575 Northwest Corridor Express Lanes.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, the Akers Mill Road bridge over I-75 will be closed to traffic from 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 until 6 a.m. on Monday, June 24. Travelers can use exit 256 at Cumberland Boulevard as an alternate route.

This closure will help ensure the safety of work crews and drivers in the work zone. Please be cautious if driving in the area.
