CobbLinc Implements New Bus Fare Collection System

July 19, 2024 - Cobb County’s transit system, CobbLinc, is updating the fareboxes on its fleet. This new systemwide upgrade will be a smarter, faster, and more reliable way to pay, putting the power at the rider’s fingertips.

The new FastFare boxes created by Genfare will feature new technologies that will improve the ridership experience by reducing boarding time and granting customers flexibility with how they pay for their rides. The fareboxes will still accept traditional currency such as cash and coins. These new technologies will also decrease farebox failures and increase the reliability of the payment services.

With the new FastFare platform, transfers to other routes will not be possible for customers to pay their fares with cash or coins. Transfers will only be available to Breeze card and Breeze Mobile users.

CobbLinc plans to have its new FastFare system entirely in place by August 1 and is prepared to offer fare exchanges from the old magnetic platform through the end of 2024.

Customers can choose to visit the customer service facility at 431 Commerce Park Drive in Marietta (30060) to exchange unused magnetic tickets for new fare media or visit the self-service kiosk at the Marietta Transfer Center located at 800 South Marietta Parkway in Marietta (30060).
