Serious Injury Pedestrian Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) is investigating a serious injury pedestrian collision which occurred in Precinct Three on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:33 p.m. on Smyrna Powder Springs Road at Landmark Drive.

A white 2011 Buick Enclave was travelling west on Smyrna Powder Springs Road at Landmark Drive. A pedestrian entered the roadway from the south side of the road, crossing into the path of the Buick. The front of the Buick collided with the pedestrian. The Buick came to a stop in the westbound lane of Smyrna Powder Springs Road and remained on scene.

The pedestrian was identified as 17-year-old Alton Williams of Marietta. Mr. Williams was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Buick was identified as 36-year-old Robert Walker of Marietta. Mr. Walker was not injured in the collision.
