The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in Precinct Three on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 9:15 p.m. on Powers Ferry Road near Wood Hollow Drive.

A grey 2010 Mazda 6 was northbound on Powers Ferry Road. As the Mazda approached the intersection at Wood Hollow Drive, the left front side collided with a pedestrian. The driver immediately stopped and sought assistance from other motorists.

The driver of the Mazda was identified as 50-year-old Ernest Moore of Marietta.

The pedestrian was identified as 69-year-old Harold Glaspy of Marietta. Mr. Glaspy was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Next of kin has been notified.

Per investigators, there is no evidence of impaired driving, distracted driving, or speeding. The roadway is not lit at the scene of the collision.
