The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury hit and run pedestrian collision that occurred in Precinct Three on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, at 5:59 p.m. on Cunningham Road south of Crosswinds Circle.

Per investigators, a pedestrian entered the southbound travel lane of Cunningham Road south of Crosswinds Circle. While in the roadway, investigators believe that a dark color four door sedan struck the pedestrian. The sedan then continued southbound on Cunningham Road.

Investigators observed video surveillance footage from a residence and a business that place the dark sedan in the area prior to and after the collision. Due to limited evidence at the scene and limited witness information, investigators do not have a make and model for the sedan at this time.

The pedestrian was identified as a 14-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of serious injuries and is currently listed in critical condition. The juvenile’s next of kin has been notified.

This collision remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987.
