**Update/Additional Information**

The driver of the Mercedes C300, 19-year-old Colin W. Outz of Marietta, was taken into custody this afternoon via the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit.

Colin W. Outz was charged with Reckless Driving (M), and Vehicular Homicide – 1st degree (F).

Colin W. Outz is currently in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center (ADC).

Fatal Traffic Collision

Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on February 21, 2020, at 11:19 p.m. Per investigators, a white 2011 Mercedes SL550 was turning left from northbound Johnson Ferry Road to Powers Road when it collided with a white 2010 Mercedes C300 traveling southbound on Johnson Ferry Road.

The driver of the Mercedes SL550, 61-year-old Robert M. Higginbotham of Marietta, was ejected from the car and pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver of the Mercedes C300, 19-year-old Colin W. Outz of Marietta, was transported to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
