The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred in Precinct Two on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 4:10 a.m. on Glore Road at Ethel Springs Trail.

According to investigators, a black 2006 Infiniti QX56 was traveling west on Glore Road, passing Ethel Springs Trail when the driver failed to maintain a single lane of travel and left the roadway to the right. The right side of the Infiniti QX56 collided with two trees before it was redirected back onto the road and overturned. Two adult male passengers were ejected during the collision.

One male passenger was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. The male has not been positively identified. The other male passenger was seriously injured and transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital. That male was identified as Rafael Rodriguez Facundo of Mableton.

Investigators believe that the male driver of the Infiniti QX56 was restrained, not ejected, and not seriously injured. He left the scene on foot and has not yet been located. Investigators also believe that excessive speed and impairment are contributing factors in this collision.

This collision remains under investigation. Anyone with additional information regarding this collision should contact investigators at 770-499-3987.
