Fatal Traffic Collision

The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred on Shallowford Road at Chimney Lake Drive on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at 10:40 a.m.

According to investigators, a red 2000 Kenworth dump truck traveled west on Shallowford Road approaching Chimney Lake Drive while a white 2010 Lincoln MKZ was southbound on Chimney Lake Drive in the left turn lane to turn east onto Shallowford Road. As the Kenworth dump truck approached the intersection on a green traffic signal, the Lincoln MKZ entered the intersection in front of the Kenworth dump truck and the front of the Kenworth dump truck collided with the driver side of the Lincoln MKZ.

The driver of the Kenworth dump truck, 50-year-old Keith Rosado of Cartersville, was not injured and did not require any medical attention. 

The driver of the Lincoln MKZ, 62-year-old Janet S. Muse of Roswell, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.
