Serious Injury Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury traffic collision that occurred on Piedmont Road, east of Bells Ferry Road on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 8:56 p.m. 

According to investigators, a silver 2020 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on Piedmont Road, east of Bells Ferry Road, in the left westbound lane as an unidentified pedestrian was running south across Piedmont Road. The pedestrian entered into the path of the Chevrolet Silverado, and the front right of the Chevrolet Silverado collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian came to an uncontrolled rest in the westbound lanes of Piedmont Road, and the Chevrolet Silverado came to a controlled rest in the left southbound lane of Piedmont road. 

The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, 57-year-old Stephen Kuder of Marietta, was not injured.

The pedestrian was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries. The identity of the pedestrian is currently unknown.
