Serious Injury Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury traffic collision that occurred on East-West Connector near Auldyn Drive on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 1:31 p.m. 

According to investigators, a white 2003 GMC Envoy and a silver 2007 Toyota Camry were traveling west on East-West Connector when the front of the Toyota collided with the rear of the GMC. Both vehicles spun and crossed over the raised center median before they entered the eastbound travel lanes. The GMC came to rest on the southern shoulder. The passenger side of the Toyota collided with the front of an eastbound silver 2012 Volvo S60 and an eastbound white 2012 Chevrolet Camaro. The Toyota was redirected east and came to rest on the southern shoulder.

The driver of the GMC Envoy, 18-year-old Yeraldi Belmont of Marietta, was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Toyota Camry, 26-year-old Ronniesha S. Simmons of Austell, was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with injuries and was treated and released. The passenger of the Toyota Camry, 31-year-old Martinique A. Trimble of Mableton, was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Volvo S60, 47-year-old Staci R. Chatman of Jonesboro, was transported to Wellstar Kennestone with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The drive of the Chevrolet Camaro, 42-year-old Fontaine M. Allen of Marietta, was transported to Wellstar Kennestone with non-life-threatening injuries.
