Cobb commissioners announced the appointment of three residents to county boards during the regular meeting in Marietta April 13.

Numerous official boards and authorities advise county officials in deciding local issues.

Commissioner Jerica Richardson nominated two people to Keep Cobb Beautiful, Inc., which assists the county in establishing, promoting, and maintaining a countywide policy for improved environmental and waste management. Myron Massey and John Hitchins will both serve a term that expires in December 2024.

Commissioner Monique Sheffield nominated Jacqueline McSwain to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a concurrent term to expire in December 2024.

The Board of Zoning Appeals hears and decides appeals where there are claims of error in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance. It also decides special exemptions and the granting of variances.
