Animal Attack

On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, shortly before 11:30 a.m. a group of dogs attacked several people in the area of Beverly Lane off Windy Hill Road. Two people were transported to the hospital.

Preliminary information indicates the dogs got out of their residence and attacked a neighbor. Her son and others were able to chase the dogs away before they continued throughout the neighborhood and attacked others.

When officers arrived at the dog owner’s home at 2354 Beverly Lane they shot two dogs that were attacking a woman in the residence in order to get her to safety. One dog was deceased at the scene while the other is expected to survive the gunshot wound. All other dogs have since been captured by Cobb County Animal Services. There were a total of seven dogs (including the deceased one).

During the initial investigation there were five victims discovered, three choosing to seek medical attention on their own.

This investigation remains open and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Hammond of Cobb County Police Animal Services at 770-590-5638.
