On Thursday, May 6, 2021, at approximately 3:18 p.m., the Cobb County Police Department Precinct One uniform patrol officers responded to Town Center Mall in reference to a person shot. On arrival, officers learned that an armed robbery had occurred at the business of A&M Custom Jewelry inside the mall. During the armed robbery, one suspect was shot in the abdomen by an armed security guard, and one employee of the business was struck on the foot by a projectile fired from the suspect. The suspects gained access to a display cabinet and took various custom watches before fleeing the scene.

The injured suspect, 24-year-old Marquavis Wilson, was later dropped off at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and sequentially arrested. Marquavis Wilson has been charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.
