The driver of the white 2015 Yamaha YZFR6 was identified as 35-year-old Jeffrey L. Everett of Powder Springs. Next of kin has been notified.

Fatal Motorcycle Collison

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred in Precinct Two on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, at 7:08 a.m. on Maxham Road at Old Alabama Road.

Per investigators, a white 2015 Yamaha YZFR6 was traveling north on Maxham Road approaching the intersection. A silver 2013 Nissan Maxima was waiting to turn left from southbound Maxham Road to eastbound Old Alabama Road. The Nissan turned left in front of the Yamaha and the vehicles collided in the intersection.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as 46-year-old Fredericka C. Washington of Austell. She did not require medical attention at the scene.

The driver of the Yamaha was transported to Grady Hospital and was pronounced deceased. Next of kin has not been notified.

The collision remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987.
