The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Austell Road at Hurt Road on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at approximately 6:00 p.m. 

Per investigators, a gold 2009 Toyota Corolla was traveling north on Austell Road approaching Hurt Road as a pedestrian was attempting to cross Austell Road in the crosswalk. The pedestrian entered into the path of the Toyota and was struck.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla, 45-year-old Kehinde Awe of Marietta, was not injured in the collision. The pedestrian, 42-year-old Michael Murray of Marietta, was transported to WellStar Cobb Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
