A pedestrian was struck by multiple vehicles and killed on I-285 Westbound just west of Cobb Parkway in the early morning hours. According to investigators, at 4:39 a.m. an adult male, identified as 29-year-old Dustin A. Dalton of Canton, GA (next of kin have been notified), entered the westbound lanes of I-285 where he was struck by multiple vehicles to include a tractor-trailer. The scene extended across all westbound lanes and required a complete closure of westbound I-285 until 9:20 a.m.

Though no charges are expected, the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit at 770-499-3987.
